Trichinellosis

Trichinellosis
Enfermedad parasitaria producida por distintas especies de nematodo pertenecientes al género Trichinella. El contagio se produce por la ingestión de carne cruda o poco cocinada, con larvas de este parásito enquistadas en células musculares que se trasformas en células nodriza. Estas larvas se transforman en adultos en el intestino delgado, cuyas hembras paren larvas al 5º día de la infestación. Estas larvas se distribuyen por el torrente sanguíneo a la musculatura donde se enquistan al cabo que unas dos semanas tras su nacimiento, momento en el que son infectantes para un nuevo hospedador. Por el ciclo tiene una duración mínima (prepatencia) de unas tres semanas.
